A taste of the Quick-Fire Team Relay
This free sampler is a simplified introduction to our Quick-Fire Relay games. Split the class into two teams, open the file on your whiteboard and race through four stages, all built from the same six short e words.
How to play
- Stage 1 – Picture Relay: children hear the word and race to find the matching picture.
- Stage 2 – Connect the Sounds: children join the onset and rime to build the word they hear.
- Stage 3 – Word & Picture Match: children match each picture to its written word.
- Stage 4 – Word Grid Challenge: the teacher calls a word and one child from each team races to find it.
- Teacher's Choice: 3 blank templates to add your own words and pictures.
All you need is a whiteboard and a few magnets or markers. It fits easily into a 10–15 minute slot.
